Obituary for Kathryn Lynn Ford (1951-2020)

Recently, I created an article here on HomeFolk Tales to publish an obituary, I then used the resulting link in a Facebook posting making it available for friends and family to read. Comments were shared that putting the obituary on the family's favorite social media platform were all favorable. With that, it is now time to share another, this same way.

          Kathryn Lynn Ford passed away peacefully at home after a two-year-long fight against melanoma cancer on Sunday, September 6, 2020, in Maple Valley, Washington. At the age of 69, she went to be with her sister Karen.

          Kathryn was born in Tacoma, Washington on July 23, 1951. Kathryn grew up in Port Orchard, Washington before moving to Tonasket, Washington in 1978. She remained in Eastern Washington until her children were grown.

          She is preceded in death by her father Hubert Conover, her mother Ruth Conover (nee Sargeant), her brother Bill Conover, her sister Karen Conover, and her nephew Jeff Conover.

          She is survived by her sister Gwen Jones of Vancouver, Washington; her sister-in-law Bette Conover (nee Mosley) of Port Townsend, Washington; daughter and son-in-law Tracy and Jeff Steffens of Maple Valley, Washington; daughter and son-in-law RuthAnn and Ty Simpson of Lynnwood, Washington; niece Lisa Christman of Bellflower, California; niece April Kearchner (nee Conover) of Auburn, Washington; nephew Everett Christman of Stanwood, Washington; nephew Todd (Grace ) Conover of Kenmore, Washington; great-nieces Kimberly, Amithyst, Lauren, Megan; great-nephews John, Jason, and Zach; grandchildren Robert and Angelina (Colon) Pellegrini of Kent, Washington; Tina (nee Pellegrini) and Daniel Norton of Kent, Washington; great-grandchildren Michael, Anthony, Dante, Tyreece, and Carter.

          Kathryn’s wishes were to be cremated. Due to COVID-19, plans to celebrate this feisty, fun-loving, redhead, we all knew as Kat, are yet to be made.
