Happy Monday to all. Today's transcription project is the obituary of Clara Mathilda Johnson (1902-1988).
Clara was the daughter of Ole L. Eskelson and Matilda Christianson and she would marry Hans Frederick Johnson on 08 November 1922 in Douglas, Ward County, North Dakota. Clara would then be in place to become my great-aunt or better said, the wife of my great-uncle. Hans was my grandfather's [Alfred Johnson] youngest sibling. I have a few memories of Aunt Clara from a very long time ago. As I remember her, she was always friendly and had a great smile.
It is unfortunate that Clara and Hans would never have any of their own children. Family lore tells of how much they wanted to have children.
Again, you probably noticed today's was a simple transcription project. I also want to apologize for missing last week's assignment. We had been traveling and the visit with family was a good pause. It is time now to get back into the routine.

Amanuensis Monday is a weekly blog theme that was started by John Newmark, the author of TransylvanianDutch blog. John defines Amanuensis as "A person employed to write what another dictates or to copy what has been written by another." I also appreciate the good work and format examples of San Diego genealogist Randy Seaver of the blog Genea-musings. Thanks, guys.
Transcribing helps me to learn what a document contains. I have learned over time that I have a tendency to "skim" over an item; a bad trait for a researcher who needs to learn even the smallest details documented records contain. Transcribing helps me to slow down; to capture all aspects of the paper in hand. It also gives me a better opportunity to share the document with you.
Thank you for stopping by today and letting me share this newspaper article with you. I also hope that your week has had a good start. And as always, I hope you have a great day.
